Poetry at Sangam showcases poetry in English and translations as well as essays on poetics and news of new releases.
Malathi Maithri is a poet, and editor of Anangu, the first feminist political magazine in Tamil. She has published 4 collections of poetry — Sankaraaparani, Neerindri Amaiyathu Ulagu, Niili, and Enathu Madhukuduvai — edited an anthology of international Tamil women poems, and published a number of collections of essays dealing with Gender Politics, Feminism etc. Her poems have been translated into a number of languages, and she was awarded the Govt. of Puducherry State Award for poetry and the Tirupur Tamizh Sangam Award for her poetry collection in 2001.
