Let Us Be Citizens

I need every bit of your bite, your bile,
Your blood.
I need your tango, your tangle, the
Way you tie me up in knots, in anger, or in
Laughter.
I need your loving and loathing
I need you to push me, unspool

My words so packed
Together to make me
Come alive, and lead me through
The labyrinth I daily face, monitor to my
Minotaur, mentor and tormentor.
Though no matador I shall
Take the bull by the horns, to

Rumble, he and I, and knock
Down the lies of our lives, the
Ring we find ourselves in, and
From the wreckage, build
And resurrect
You and I our
New Jerusalem
