PRADNYA DAYA PAWAR

Pradnya Daya Pawar is a Marathi poet, columnist and writer. Her work is political and deals with caste oppression and patriarchal exploitation in Indian society. Her five books on poetry are Antastha, Utkat Jivghenya Dhagiwar, Mi Bhidvu Pahatey Samagrashi Dola, Aarpaar Layit Pranantik and Drushyancha Dhobal Samudra. She also has a two-act play Dhadant Khairlanji, a collection of short stories, Afwa Khari Tharawi Mhanun, three books of journalistic writing  Kendra Ani Parigh, Tehaltikori and Arwachin Aaran and two edited books Mi Bhayankarachya Darwajat Ubha Ahe: Namdev Dhasal Yanchi Nivadak Kavita and Vimuktanche Swatantrya to her credit. Her writing has  been translated in various Indian and foreign languages. She has been awarded a number of prestigious awards at the state as well as national level. She read at the  Moscow International Book Fair in 2009. She is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Marathi at Satish Pradhan Dnyanasadhana College, Thane, Maharashtra.
