Born in 1952 in Madhya Pradesh, Uday Prakash is one of India’s most prominent Hindi writers. His work spans the genres of poetry, short-stories and journalism. In the year 2015, he returned his Sahitya Akademi Award in protest against the killing of the Kannada littérateur M.M. Kalburgi.
