VI by Sachal Sarmast

With respect I walk with my Ranjha

I neither crave for the comfort of my home,
the softness of the pillow
nor my feet need resting atop my silken bed

I belong to Ranjha and he belongs to me,
I readily sacrifice my abode for you

Across the shimmering sea,
is the home of my beloved,
with brisk arm strokes I swim towards him

Where my Ranjha resides,
I shall sprout a garden,
A garden of flowers that will bloom

I have just one heart,
that my Ranjha has taken from me,
what else will I put my heart into.

Sachu says, my beloved has such a beautiful face,
who now can I call out and sing this aloud to?
