Poetry at Sangam showcases poetry in English and translations as well as essays on poetics and news of new releases.
Kalyani Thakur Charal is a Dalit poet from West Bengal. She considers herself a Dalit activist and has written extensively about the humiliation faced by her community. She has published four books of poetry in Bengali, a collection of short stories and, a collection of essays. These poems have been translated from her collection of poems – Chandalinir Kabita (Poems of a Lower Caste Woman).
