(Translated from the Urdu by by Maaz Bin Bilal.)
Keep water in the eye and a spark on your lip.
To stay alive be alert, have many schemes, many tips.
No goals are worthier than the stones in your path,
The road beckons, keep up your journey, stick to your trip.
Both the banks belong to one river, my friends,
Befriend life, keep death by your hip.
Time on its way whispers in our ear:
A call to arms comes, maintain your grip.
It is needed that the eyes keep their secret, be deceived,
Sleep or be an insomniac, but dream big.
These winds may blow away my paper frame,
Comrades, put your weight behind my chips.
‘Rahat’ has brought ‘relief’ with poetry in the bazar,
Must the diction be of the street, I quip?
