The Filiation by James Byrne

Yes, foolery of the ledger, but Goya
fouls the fair gender. Wake him away
from courtly matriarchies. It is her
sufferance in the marriage of pedigree
arranged by duty; her Honours degree
stirring a skillet for the new Master.
Incompetent, thick as mother’s ghee,
he checks balances of land and ledger.
