Poetry at Sangam showcases poetry in English and translations as well as essays on poetics and news of new releases.
One of the most important voices in contemporary Dutch poetry, Erik Lindner was born in 1968 in the city of Hague, Netherlands. He started writing at an early age and at present, he has published five books of poetry and a novel titled Naar Whitebridge (De Bezige Bij, 2013). His work has been translated into many languages and in France, Germany and Italy, books of his poetry were published in translation. Nach Akedia (Verlag Matthes & Seitz Berlin, 2013) was a recommendation by the German Academy for Language and Literature. Lindner works as a freelance writer and is editor of Terras, an international magazine that he founded in 2011. He has read on numerous international festivals all over the world and was a poet in residence in Berlin (DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program), Taipei, Montreal, Athens, Marseille and Paris. Poetry can reveal what happiness might be to an extent that it becomes a physical experience, the German poet Ulf Stolterfoht emphasizes in the epiloque of Lindner‘s first poetry book in German. According to another critic, Nico Bleutge, the poems of Erik Lindner can intensify our patterns of perception and sharpen our senses for what is possible.
