Anitha Thampi is a Malayalam poet and translator. Her first poetry collection, Muttamadikkumpol, was published in 2004 to significant critical acclaim. Her other works include Azhakillaathavayellam (2010), Alappuzha Vellam (2016) and a trilingual co-authored collection, A Different Water (2018). Widely translated into various international and Indian languages, Anitha’s work has appeared in several journals and anthologies. Her poems are part of the curriculum in many universities and she has participated in various poetry events in India and abroad. She has translated works by several writers, including Carlo Collodi, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Les Murray and Mourid Barghouti. She lives in Thiruvananthapuram.
