Poetry at Sangam
Poetry at Sangam showcases poetry in English and translations as well as essays on poetics and news of new releases.
Suchitra Hansda was born in the year 1983. She is a high school teacher and is based in Dankuni, West Bengal. For her debut collection of poetry, Bera Ahla (Rays of the Sun) she won the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar in Santali for the year 2015. Her other published books are: Dobe Baha (Flower Bud), a book for children, published in 2013; Dhilwang (Swing), another book for children, published in 2014; Juwan Dare (The Strength of Youth), a book of poetry, published in 2015; and Khoda (Tattoo), a book of stories, published in 2016. Suchitra Hansda is a member of both the All India Santali Writers Association as well as the Santali Advisory Board of the Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi.
