IF ALL THINGS ARE INTERLOCKED WITH YOU by Yu Xiuhua

The way they breathe in this late autumn twilight
The way they swirl in the water for hours
And also the shudder of their shock when the stars appear
I shall be sunk deeper into this village, like a mud puddle into a mud pond
But I love the light on the edge of each leaf
As much as a glance passed by the world when I touch your fingertips
Such danger enthralls me
And makes me want to turn everything upside down to rearrange it
But you remain silent, passing one mystery
To another mystery
In the same way that my defiant praise of the world cannot relate to you
The part of the night where one aches is incomprehensible to you.
