V by Sachal Sarmast

I am what I am, neither Hindu nor Muslim

Neither I am a mullah nor a Kaazi,
neither do I teach a lesson to anyone

Neither do I go to Masjid nor do I enter the house of hearts,
never do I step inside

Neither I believe in Karba, nor do I go to the Qibla,
never do I go to Mecca

Neither am I a Sunni nor a Shia, nor do I assume I am an upper-class Sayed

Neither am I Nanak nor Lachman,
never have I bathed in the Ganges

My beloved lives in the city of Daraza
and I call myself Sachal
