An Inconvenient Earth

Lacking waterproofing and waxen
artifice of treated compounds

too organicmundus to offer spring
buds from unflappable chemicalese

impressionable like mercurum
scaling within river guts

the pace of tortoiseshell
to absorb intelligent life
of industrial creatures
and their emission waylays

a hurricaning in a tailspin
greeny hothouse that floods
along the coasts and caps

an exploiter of thundery drama
the crack of bricking drought

square miles never expand
like heftiscum on other planets

a cloudy marble unstoppered
with fragile emotion and greys
whose alteration cannot weather
alloying seafloors of debris

mother forgets her first law
eco by nomics slicked and tapped
growth in dendrochronology

reserves fall like rainforests
meagred by wholesale appetite

she is a famine of terra talent
witless to the diamond pressure
resilient cred of polymer.
