Poetry at Sangam
Poetry at Sangam showcases poetry in English and translations as well as essays on poetics and news of new releases.
Begum Asma Khatun was born in Panchgaon and now lives in Bongaigaon, Assam. She started composing poetry while in high school and per poems, short stories and essays have been published in newspapers and magazines in Assam. Her book of poems in the Assamese (Hands that Cut Mountains to See the Sun) was published in 2018 and her novel on Char Chapori life (Boatman) was published in 2022.
