Liu Yuanhao

Liu Yuanhao received her Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) and is currently completing a programme of master of arts in English Studies (MAES) at the University of Hong Kong. Having a passion for words, she has written fairy tales and poems since her primary school years, and had some of her works published in various junior publications. In the years at SHNU, under the guidance of prof Lu Min, she participated in the national project of East African literature in which she was responsible for the contemporary literature in Mauritius. In this research, she translated a poem by Khal Torabully, “Coolitude: Worker Bees of the Colonies” into Chinese and published a paper introducing Mauritius literature. She has translated some Botswana women’s poets into Chinese and written a paper on those poems to be published soon. By reading more excellent literature, Liu Yuanhao hopes to get a deeper sense of the charm and excitement of literature.
